I was born on the 9th of September in Barkly East. A rural town situated in North-Eastern Cape province. I am the youngest of 6 children, and was brought up as a farmer’s daughter. In a much protected environment with no exposure to violence.
I attended the Holy Cross Convent in Aliwal North, and matriculated at Oranje Girls High School in Bloemfontein. From there to Wellington Hugenote College in the Western Cape.
During my studies in Wellington, I was shocked off my feet when I discovered the cruelty of people to both humans and animals. I almost lost my entire faith in mankind.
After plenty written trials, which all landed in either a dustbin or was stashed in a drawer, it took tons of courage to start my first book, Lavender. Abuse became a topic which both intrigued and filled me with so much anger, and how the judicial system handled it, that I decided to do extensive research on the topic. It took me approximately 4 years to complete.
However, there is a “twist in this tale…..,” and could lead to a follow-up, sometime!
